Cancun Wedding Photographer Prices and Packages

I want you to know something before you scroll to the prices below.
I’ve been photographing weddings in Cancun and the Riviera Maya for 19 years. Over 800 weddings. And after all that time, I still get emotional at ceremonies. I still feel the nerves with the couple before the first look. I still laugh when the best man forgets the rings.
This isn’t just what I do. It’s who I am. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
If you’re looking for cancun photographer prices that are transparent and honest, you’re in the right place. I wrote a full guide on wedding photography costs in Cancun to help you understand what goes into the pricing. When you book with Tam Rico Photo, you’re not just getting someone who takes good pictures. You’re getting someone who will calm you down when the nerves hit, who will make the happy moments even happier, and who genuinely feels joy on your wedding day. That matters more than you might think.

because it shows in every single photo.

I keep my pricing transparent because I believe you deserve to plan without surprises. Everything you see on this page is what you’ll actually pay. No hidden fees, no ‘contact me for pricing’ games. Your budget is already stretched enough planning a destination wedding from thousands of miles away.

The Hidden Cost Nobody Tells You About: Resort Vendor Fees

This is important. If you’re getting married at a resort in Cancun or the Riviera Maya, there’s a cost that catches almost every couple off guard: the resort vendor fee.
Most resorts charge an outside vendor fee of $500 USD or more just for allowing your chosen photographer to enter the property. That’s on top of what you’re already paying for rooms, the wedding package, catering, and everything else. And most photographers either don’t mention it until you’ve already booked, or they pass it directly to you as an extra charge.

Why do I cover resort photo vendor fees?

Because I’ve seen what happens when couples don’t know about them.
I once worked with two brides who came to Cancun for their elopement. Getting married here was their dream. But when the resort told them about the vendor fee, they had to make an impossible choice: pay the fee or pay their photographer.

They didn’t have professional photos of their own ceremony. That still breaks my heart.
That experience changed how I run my business. I got tired of watching couples feel like everyone in Mexico is trying to squeeze extra money out of them.

That’s not fair, especially when hotels are already charging premium prices for everything.

So here’s how I handle it: on any wedding collection of 3 hours or more, I cover half of your resort photo vendor fee, up to a maximum of $500 USD. I don’t think it’s fair for couples to be punished for choosing the photographer they actually want. I honestly don’t know if other photographers in Cancun do this too, but I do it because it feels right, and because no couple should have to go without wedding photos over a fee they didn’t even know existed.

What Does a Cancun Wedding Photographer Cost in 2026?

Why Do Cancun Photographer Prices Vary So Much?

If you’ve been researching cancun photographer prices, you’ve probably noticed a huge range. Some photographers charge $300 for two hours. Others charge $7,000+ for a full day. It’s confusing, and it’s hard to know what you’re actually comparing.
Here’s what I’ve learned in nearly two decades of shooting weddings in this market:
What’s included matters more than the hourly rate. Some photographers offer a low hourly price but include only 10 or 15 edited images. The rest? You buy them separately. That’s where the real cost adds up. With my collections,

you get a carefully curated gallery of the best moments from your day.

I go through every single image and hand-select the strongest ones, so you’re not sorting through duplicates or figuring out which version of the same shot is best. If I took 10 frames from the same angle, you get the 2 or 3 that really shine. No filler, no fluff, just the images that tell your story.
Experience changes everything, especially in Cancun. Destination weddings are not like weddings back home. The light here is intense and changes fast. Resort timelines are tight.

Vendor coordination can be complicated if you don’t know the system.

After 19 years and 800+ weddings across Cancun, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, and the entire Riviera Maya,

I know how to handle anything this coast throws at a wedding day.
Language and communication make a real difference. You’re planning a wedding from the U.S. or Canada, and you need a photographer who speaks your language fluently. Not just technically, but conversationally. Someone who understands your humor, your references, your vision.

I’ve been working with English-speaking couples for nearly 20 years,

and clear communication is something past clients mention in almost every review.
Your photographer’s energy shows up in your photos. This is something people don’t talk about enough. If your photographer is stressed, checked out, or just going through the motions, it shows. If they’re genuinely happy to be there, that shows too. For me, documenting love is not a job. It’s a privilege. I believe that Love Looks Good on Everyone, and that belief is in every frame I deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cancun Photographer Prices

Cancun wedding photographer prices typically range from $1,200 to $7,000 USD or more, depending on hours of coverage, the number of edited images, experience level, and whether extras like a second photographer or videography are included. My wedding collections start at $1,400 USD for 3 hours of coverage with a curated gallery of your best moments. There are no per-photo charges and no surprise fees.

Every wedding collection from Tam Rico Photo includes full coverage for the hours booked, a hand-curated gallery of edited images delivered through a private online gallery, and a documentary approach that captures real moments without stiff direction. Larger collections include a second photographer, calm direction for portraits, and full-day storytelling from getting ready through the celebration. All wedding collections of 3 hours or more include my vendor fee contribution, where I cover half of the resort fee up to a maximum of $500 USD.

Most resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya charge a vendor fee (typically $500 USD or more) for outside photographers to access the property. This is separate from your wedding package and your photography investment. Many couples don’t find out about this fee until deep into their planning. I cover half of the resort photo vendor fee, up to a maximum of $500 USD, on wedding collections of 3 hours or more, so you don’t have to choose between your photographer and your budget.

Absolutely, and it’s personal. I’m part of the LGBTQ+ community, not just an ally. When you book with Tam Rico Photo, you’re working with someone who understands what it means to celebrate queer love, and who will never make you feel like you need to explain yourselves. Cancun and the Riviera Maya have become one of the most welcoming destinations for same-sex weddings, and every couple deserves a photographer who makes them feel completely at ease. Love Looks Good on Everyone.

For destination weddings in Cancun, booking 6 to 12 months in advance is ideal. Peak season (November through April) fills up fastest. I take a limited number of weddings per year to make sure every couple gets my full attention and energy, not just a slot on a calendar.

Yes. I’m based in Cancun and regularly photograph weddings and couples sessions throughout the Riviera Maya, including Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Isla Mujeres, Puerto Morelos, and everywhere in between. For weddings and elopements, travel is included. Couples sessions outside Cancun may include a travel fee depending on distance.

I offer couples and engagement sessions starting at $600 USD and family sessions starting at $600 USD. These are perfect for engagement photos, honeymoon sessions, anniversaries, proposals, or family vacation portraits on the beach. Same documentary style, same genuine warmth, just a shorter timeline.

I typically deliver wedding galleries within 4 to 6 weeks and couples or family sessions within 2 to 3 weeks. You’ll receive a sneak peek of highlights within 2 days of your session.
