Cancun Wedding Photographer Prices and Packages
I want you to know something before you scroll to the prices below.
I’ve been photographing weddings in Cancun and the Riviera Maya for 19 years. Over 800 weddings. And after all that time, I still get emotional at ceremonies. I still feel the nerves with the couple before the first look. I still laugh when the best man forgets the rings.
This isn’t just what I do. It’s who I am. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
If you’re looking for cancun photographer prices that are transparent and honest, you’re in the right place. I wrote a full guide on wedding photography costs in Cancun to help you understand what goes into the pricing. When you book with Tam Rico Photo, you’re not just getting someone who takes good pictures. You’re getting someone who will calm you down when the nerves hit, who will make the happy moments even happier, and who genuinely feels joy on your wedding day. That matters more than you might think.
because it shows in every single photo.
I keep my pricing transparent because I believe you deserve to plan without surprises. Everything you see on this page is what you’ll actually pay. No hidden fees, no ‘contact me for pricing’ games. Your budget is already stretched enough planning a destination wedding from thousands of miles away.
The Hidden Cost Nobody Tells You About: Resort Vendor Fees
This is important. If you’re getting married at a resort in Cancun or the Riviera Maya, there’s a cost that catches almost every couple off guard: the resort vendor fee.
Most resorts charge an outside vendor fee of $500 USD or more just for allowing your chosen photographer to enter the property. That’s on top of what you’re already paying for rooms, the wedding package, catering, and everything else. And most photographers either don’t mention it until you’ve already booked, or they pass it directly to you as an extra charge.
Why do I cover resort photo vendor fees?
Because I’ve seen what happens when couples don’t know about them.
I once worked with two brides who came to Cancun for their elopement. Getting married here was their dream. But when the resort told them about the vendor fee, they had to make an impossible choice: pay the fee or pay their photographer.
They didn’t have professional photos of their own ceremony. That still breaks my heart.
That experience changed how I run my business. I got tired of watching couples feel like everyone in Mexico is trying to squeeze extra money out of them.
That’s not fair, especially when hotels are already charging premium prices for everything.
So here’s how I handle it: on any wedding collection of 3 hours or more, I cover half of your resort photo vendor fee, up to a maximum of $500 USD. I don’t think it’s fair for couples to be punished for choosing the photographer they actually want. I honestly don’t know if other photographers in Cancun do this too, but I do it because it feels right, and because no couple should have to go without wedding photos over a fee they didn’t even know existed.

Why Do Cancun Photographer Prices Vary So Much?
If you’ve been researching cancun photographer prices, you’ve probably noticed a huge range. Some photographers charge $300 for two hours. Others charge $7,000+ for a full day. It’s confusing, and it’s hard to know what you’re actually comparing.
Here’s what I’ve learned in nearly two decades of shooting weddings in this market:
What’s included matters more than the hourly rate. Some photographers offer a low hourly price but include only 10 or 15 edited images. The rest? You buy them separately. That’s where the real cost adds up. With my collections,
you get a carefully curated gallery of the best moments from your day.
I go through every single image and hand-select the strongest ones, so you’re not sorting through duplicates or figuring out which version of the same shot is best. If I took 10 frames from the same angle, you get the 2 or 3 that really shine. No filler, no fluff, just the images that tell your story.
Experience changes everything, especially in Cancun. Destination weddings are not like weddings back home. The light here is intense and changes fast. Resort timelines are tight.
Vendor coordination can be complicated if you don’t know the system.
After 19 years and 800+ weddings across Cancun, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, and the entire Riviera Maya,
I know how to handle anything this coast throws at a wedding day.
Language and communication make a real difference. You’re planning a wedding from the U.S. or Canada, and you need a photographer who speaks your language fluently. Not just technically, but conversationally. Someone who understands your humor, your references, your vision.
I’ve been working with English-speaking couples for nearly 20 years,
and clear communication is something past clients mention in almost every review.
Your photographer’s energy shows up in your photos. This is something people don’t talk about enough. If your photographer is stressed, checked out, or just going through the motions, it shows. If they’re genuinely happy to be there, that shows too. For me, documenting love is not a job. It’s a privilege. I believe that Love Looks Good on Everyone, and that belief is in every frame I deliver.
