Cancun Wedding Photographer: LGBTQ+ Inclusive Documentary Photography
Your wedding in Cancun deserves more than posed portraits.
It deserves the real thing. I am Tam, a Cancun wedding photographer with nearly two decades of experience documenting weddings across Quintana Roo and the Riviera Maya.
My approach is photojournalistic: I work quietly, read the room, and let your day unfold naturally while capturing every real moment. No stiff poses, no endless direction. Just you, your people, and the magic of Cancun as a backdrop.

I am a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and inclusive photography is not a marketing line for me. It is who I am. Every couple I photograph gets the same thing: a safe space, full presence, and images that reflect who they actually are.

Why Choose a Cancun Wedding Photographer Who Knows the Area?
Cancun is one of the most sought-after destinations for weddings in Mexico, and it is easy to see why. The Caribbean light is extraordinary. Beaches at Playa Mujeres, Isla Blanca, and along the Hotel Zone offer dramatic ocean backdrops that are nearly impossible to photograph badly, and the sunsets here are legendary.
But beyond the beauty, Cancun is a logistically smart choice. It is easy to fly into from the United States, Canada, and Europe. There are venues for every style, from intimate boutique hotels to sweeping luxury resorts like Nizuc, Viceroy, and Blue Venado. And as a local photographer, I know every corner of it: the hidden spots, the best golden hour angles, the venues where I work as an approved photographer.
My Cancun Wedding Photography Style
I photograph weddings the way I experience life: with sensitivity, awareness, and respect for emotional space. I anticipate moments before they happen. Stepping in only when it truly serves you. This allows you to stay present and connected while everything unfolds naturally around you.
Whether your wedding is barefoot on the beach at Blue Venado, in the gardens of Jardin del Mar, or in the lush grounds of a private villa. My job is the same: to be present without being intrusive, and to capture what actually happened.

Serving All Couples in Cancun and the Riviera Maya
My home base is Cancun, and I work throughout the entire Riviera Maya. My most photographed locations include Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Playa Mujeres, Isla Blanca, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum. I know these places intimately: the best light, the hidden spots, the timing that makes all the difference.
Most of my couples book from the United States, Canada, and beyond. Planning a wedding from far away takes trust, and I take that seriously. I am always happy to get on a call before you decide. No pressure, just a conversation. You can learn more about my approach on the About page.
Wedding Photography Investment
As a Cancun wedding photographer, my packages start at $1,400 USD for intimate ceremonies and elopements, with full-day coverage available for larger celebrations. Every package includes edited images delivered with care, a sneak peek within 48 hours, and a photographer who genuinely loves what she does. You can view full details on the pricing page.
We Cover Your Resort Vendor Fee: Up to $500 USD
Many Cancun resorts charge an outside vendor fee to bring in your own photographer. I cover up to $500 USD of that fee, so you can choose the photographer you actually want, without paying twice.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you photograph LGBTQ+ weddings in Cancun?
Absolutely, and it is personal to me. I am a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. When you work with me, you will never have to explain yourselves or manage my comfort. You just get to be in love.
How far in advance should we book?
The sweet spot is 6 months to 2 years before your date, especially for destination weddings when venues and vendors fill up fast. That said, if your date is sooner, always reach out. I will always tell you honestly whether I can make it work.
Do you work at specific venues in Cancun?
Yes, I am an approved Cancun wedding photographer at several top venues including Nizuc, Viceroy, Blue Venado, and Jardin del Mar. I also work at private villas, boutique hotels, and beach locations throughout the area.
Can we have an engagement session before the wedding?
Yes, and I highly recommend it. A couples session before your wedding day helps you get comfortable in front of the camera and builds our connection before the big day. Cancun and Isla Mujeres are perfect for this.
What is your delivery timeline?
You will receive a sneak peek gallery within 48 hours of your wedding. Full galleries are typically delivered within 6 to 8 weeks depending on the size of the wedding.
